Architecture is a magic which creates a harmony ambience between human and environment. I was born in suburban district out of the cities so I am very much fascinated by trees, landscapes, green environment, etc. Green landscapes in architecture help to integrate into the environment in a friendly way.
I am quite appreciates with the development in architecture during modernist architecture. “Form follows function”, by Louis Sullivan. This theory has been further clarified by Frank Lloyd Wright that “Form and function should be one, joined in a spiritual union.” At most situation, I will always applied these before I take form into consideration. In field of architecture at the present stage, the limitation of space is going bigger and bigger. In this case, fully utilize the space and occupied with practical function might be the key to access the future of architecture.
An architecture focusing on function can be beautiful at the same time. When the form is formed base on certain expertise discipline (function), the outcome will definitely won’t disappointed you much. So far I always applied these elements when I am approaching the design. This principle will be last long in my architecture life.
Despite of forms follow function, how function will be functioned? I would say function will be functioned well in terms of user needs. There are also six fundamental needs that everyone has in common, and all behavior is simply an attempt to meet those six needs. Understanding these needs, and which ones you are trying to meet in any given moment, can help you create new patterns that lead to lasting fulfillment. Exploring user’s need always guide you how to function the space. Other than that, “Analysis is the best tool to help your architecture speaks”. It’s true when your architecture make sense to the surrounding and the users. People will only understands your design when all of your analysis come to place. A good architecture will have to be “ Analyze the needs and make the form function”.
